I have been an amateur genealogist for over 32 years and a professional technologist for about 20 years. The combination places me squarely in the crosshairs of genealogical technology standards like GEDCOM, and the subject area has been very much of interest to me for 15 years easily. I am very passionate about the need to improve genealogical technology standards, and we really appear to be at the cusp of making major progress in this area.
My current real life circumstances place me in Egypt as Chief Information Officer (Egypt) for an American company here. My time is rather limited in comparison to my earlier days involved in the wiki, but I will participate as much as I am able.
